Dear Woodcrest Families,
This week we officially begin CAASPP testing with English Language Arts (ELA). During this time, we will be on a block schedule, so students will not attend all of their classes each day. Students will report to their assigned testing location based on their English class period.
As we begin testing, here are some important reminders to help our students succeed:
-
Arrive to school on time – once testing begins, students will not be allowed to enter the classroom
-
Get a good night’s sleep each night
-
Eat a healthy breakfast before school
-
Bring a positive mindset and take your time—do your best!
-
Bring their laptops charged and their chargers
At Woodcrest, we are “Riding the Wave to Success,” and we are encouraging all students to lock in and bring that “Main Character Energy!” This is their opportunity to show all they have learned this year, and we know they are ready.
A reminder that Friday was the last day to purchase Knott’s Berry Farm and Castle Park field trip tickets. Thank you to all who participated—we’re looking forward to these exciting end-of-year experiences!
Looking ahead: Next week, students will continue CAASPP testing with Math and Science assessments. Consistent attendance and punctuality will continue to be key to student success.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students feel confident and prepared. Let’s have a great testing week, Wolverines!
Please ensure your student:
- Arrives to school and each class on time.
- Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
- Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.
Important Reminders:
Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.
Hats and Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus
No Gum on campus
Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus
-
There is no student drop-off in front of the school
Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day
Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school
Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt
Dismissal is at 3:15 PM
Thank you,
Mrs. Taylor

💬 Counselor’s Corner: April 27th–May 1st
Dear Students and Families,
This week, we begin CAASPP ELA (English Language Arts) Testing. We are excited for our students to show what they have learned and to demonstrate their growth this school year.
📚 Academics – CAASPP ELA Testing: CAASPP testing is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. Encourage your student to take their time, read carefully, and do their best.
Testing Tips for Success: • Get a good night’s sleep • Eat a healthy breakfast • Arrive to school on time • Stay focused and take your time • Use strategies learned in class
🌟 PBIS: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe During testing, it is important that students maintain a respectful and quiet environment so everyone can do their best. Responsible behavior during testing helps create a positive and supportive space for all Wolverines.
💜 Social-Emotional Support: Testing can sometimes feel stressful. Remind your child that it’s okay to feel nervous—what matters most is trying their best. Encourage them to stay calm, take deep breaths, and have confidence in themselves.
🏫 Community & School Connection – Supporting Testing Success: Families play an important role in helping students succeed during testing week. Creating a calm and supportive routine at home helps students feel prepared and confident.
Ways Families Can Help: • Encourage a consistent bedtime routine • Limit screen time before bed • Provide a positive and encouraging mindset • Remind students that effort matters most
We are proud of our Wolverines and know they will do an amazing job. Let’s work together to support them during this important week! 💜✨
With care,
Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia

Dear Woodcrest Families,
To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:
South Side (Bon View Entrance)
North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)
Front of the School (Campus Street)
🚫 Not Allowed
No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.
No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.
-
No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.
Why This Matters Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!
