Woodcrest Wolverines Week of 3-16 to 3-20

Week of 3-16 to 3-20

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

This week, students are invited to show school spirit by wearing green on Tuesday, March 17th in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

Join us for our Chipotle Family Night on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to enjoy dinner with family and friends while supporting our ASB program.

We are also excited for our ASB Car Show on Saturday, March 21st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Come out and support our students while checking out some amazing cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more!

Looking ahead, Spring Break will be March 30th – April 6th, and students will return to school on April 7th.

Start planning your outfits for our Rally Spirit Week, which will take place March 23rd–27th! The 2nd period class with the most school spirit for the week will win a pizza party, so be sure to participate and show your Wolverine pride.

Have a wonderful week, Wolverines!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats and Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Thank you,

Mrs. Taylor

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: March 9th to 13th

Dear Families,

We are in Trimester 3 and looking forward to a great week ahead! Please note that Friday, March 13th is a minimum day for students. As we continue supporting student success, we also want to highlight the importance of safety for our students and community.

📚 Academics:
Encourage your student to keep checking grades, stay organized with assignments, and use Paper, our free online tutoring program. Reading, studying, and asking for help early are key habits that support academic success.

🌟 PBIS: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
Wolverines continue to earn PBIS points through positive behavior, participation, and effort. Remind students that positive choices help our school remain a safe, supportive, and respectful place to learn.

💜 Social-Emotional Support:
Healthy emotional habits support overall well-being. Encourage your child to take breaks, talk about their feelings, and ask for help if needed. Our counseling team is here to support all students with emotional and academic needs.

🏫 Community & School Connection – Ontario Safety Data

Safety and well-being are essential for student success in school and in the community.

Here are some key safety facts based on recent crime statistics for Ontario, California:

Property crimes, such as theft and burglary, occur more frequently in the community. The most common property crime in Ontario is theft, with a rate of about 1,113 per 100,000 residents.

This means that while Ontario remains a vibrant city, ongoing efforts by the Ontario Police Department and community partners help monitor calls for service and maintain safety for families and schools. Residents can use tools like the community crime map and online police reporting to stay informed and engaged with local safety resources.

Families can help support school-site safety by:
• Encouraging students to report concerns to trusted adults.
• Reinforcing awareness of surroundings and respectful behavior.
• Discussing how positive choices contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Our hope is that students feel safe, supported, and confident as they continue learning every day.

Let’s continue working together to make this a great week for all Wolverines!

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.
