Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

Please note there is no school on Monday, February 9th.

We had an exciting and fun-filled Friday as we celebrated the kickoff of the Woodcrest Winter Olympics! A big thank-you to our parent volunteers and staff for helping make this such a memorable event for our students. Congratulations to our winning team, France – Team Quijano! Students were awarded medals, and Ms. Quijano will proudly display the championship trophy. Way to go, Wolverines!

Parents, please take 5 minutes to complete the Parent K–12 School Quality Survey. So far, only 17 families have completed the survey, and it closes on February 20th. Your feedback is extremely important—parent voice matters and helps guide decisions that support our students and school.

  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats and Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: February 9th–13th

Dear Families,

We are in the final week of Trimester 2, which ends Friday, February 13th. A new trimester will begin on Tuesday, February 17th. This is an important time for students to finish strong and reflect on their progress.

📚 Academics:
Encourage your student to turn in all remaining assignments, check grades, and communicate with teachers if they need support. Finishing strong now helps build confidence and prepares students for a successful start in the new trimester. Students can continue using Paper, our free online tutoring program, for extra academic support.

📅 Important Dates:

  • Trimester 2 ends: Friday, February 13th

  • New Trimester begins: Tuesday, February 17th

🌟 PBIS: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
As we close out the trimester, remind students that positive behavior and strong effort matter. Students can continue earning PBIS points and redeem them in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school. Let’s finish the trimester demonstrating our Wolverine expectations!

💜 Social-Emotional Support:
End-of-trimester deadlines can bring stress. Encourage your child to manage their time, get enough rest, and talk to a trusted adult if they feel overwhelmed. Our counseling team is always here to support students and families.

🏫 Community & School Data Connection:

  • The average school attendance in our region is about 92–93%, but our school goal is 95% attendance or higher because regular attendance strongly impacts student success.

  • Students who miss 10% or more of school days are considered chronically absent, which can affect learning and long-term achievement.

  • In middle schools similar to ours, students who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and positive citizenship/behavior are more likely to stay engaged, participate in school activities, and succeed academically.

Families can support by encouraging daily attendance, monitoring grades, promoting positive behavior, and staying connected with the school. Together, we help students stay on track for success.

We are proud of our Wolverines for their effort this trimester. Let’s finish strong and start the new trimester with confidence and motivation!

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

As the weather is changing we still have sweatshirts available for purchase!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.
