Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

We had a wonderful week celebrating Kindness Week! A big thank-you to our ASB students for organizing Kindness Rocks and a fun Spirit Week. It was great to see our campus filled with positivity, school spirit, and acts of kindness.

This Friday, we will be on an assembly schedule as we kick off the Woodcrest Winter Olympics! Students have been placed on teams and will compete in a variety of fun games and activities. Students can check their school email to see which team they are on—we’re looking forward to an afternoon of teamwork and excitement.

Parents, we kindly ask that you complete the Schoolwide Quality Survey and share your feedback. The survey is an important tool that helps guide school improvement, and it will close on February 20th. Your voice truly matters. 👉 https://bit.ly/2026surveyparents

Please note that there will be no school on Monday, February 9th, and Monday, February 16th.

We also encourage families to sign students up for Elevo Afterschool Programs, which begin this week on Tuesday from 2:30–3:30 PM. In addition, our 7th Grade Math Bootcamp classes start this week. If you would like your student to participate in the Math 7th Grade afterschool bootcamp, please email us for more information.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We’re looking forward to another great week at Woodcrest!

Go Wolverines!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats and Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Thank you,

Mrs. Taylor

Principal

Counselor Corner

Counselor’s Corner: February 2nd–6th

Dear Families,

We are moving quickly through Trimester 2, with just two weeks left before it ends on Friday, February 13th. This is an important time for students to stay focused and finish strong before grades are finalized.

📚 Academics:
Encourage your student to check grades, turn in any missing assignments, and use available supports such as Paper, our free online tutoring program. Small efforts during these final weeks can make a big difference in academic success.

📅 Important Dates:

  • No School on Monday, February 9th

  • Trimester 2 ends Friday, February 13th

🎉 Counselor Appreciation Week
This week we celebrate Counselor Week! We are grateful for the opportunity to support our students, families, and staff every day. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all our Wolverines.

🌟 PBIS:
Our school-wide expectations remain the same: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Students can continue earning PBIS points through positive choices and redeem them in the

Wellness Room/Zen Den before school.

💜 Social-Emotional Support:
As deadlines approach, remind your child to manage stress through healthy routines, communication, and asking for help when needed. Our counseling team is always here to support all Wolverines.

Let’s finish Trimester 2 strong and continue working together to support student success!

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

As the weather is changing we still have sweatshirts available for purchase!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.
