Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

This week, we held our PBIS Expectation Assemblies, where students took time to reflect on their academic progress and set meaningful goals for Trimesters Two and Three. These conversations are an important part of helping students stay focused, accountable, and motivated as we move through the school year.

During the assemblies, we also reviewed end-of-the-year expectations required for students to participate in school activities and events. Students brought home an Expectations Form to review with their families. Please review, sign, and return this form to your student’s English class by Monday.

Students who do not return the signed form by Monday will receive a detention each day until the completed form is returned. Copies of the expectations and forms are included below for your reference.

We also invite parents to join us for our Parent Engagement Meeting this Wednesday at 4:00 PM. This meeting will focus on upcoming school events and activities, as well as ways families can become more involved in our school community. Your voice and partnership are important to us.

Please be sure to save the following important dates:

  • Basketball Tryouts: January 14th & 15th

  • Parent Engagement Meeting: January 14th at 4:00 PM in the Library

  • McTeacher Family Night: January 22nd from 4:00–8:00 PM

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help every Wolverine succeed.

Go Wolverines!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats and Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Thank you,

Mrs. Taylor

Principal

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: January 12th - 16th

Dear Families,

We are settling into the new year and continuing strong in Trimester 2. This week is a great time for students to stay focused, build consistency, and keep working toward their academic and personal goals.

📚 Academics:
During our recent Expectation Assemblies, students reviewed how to use Paper, our free online tutoring program available to all students. Paper provides academic support in multiple subjects and is a great resource for homework help, test preparation, and extra practice—especially outside of school hours. Encourage your student to take advantage of this support tool!

🌟 PBIS:
Our school-wide expectations remain the same: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Students can continue earning PBIS points by making positive choices in the classroom and around campus. Points can be redeemed in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school.

💜 Social-Emotional Support:
January can feel overwhelming as routines settle back in. Encourage your child to practice self-care, stay organized, and communicate how they’re feeling. Our counseling team is here to support all Wolverines—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we support student success. Let’s keep the momentum going and make it a great week!

With care,
Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia
School Counselors

Before School Intervention Program for students who need extra academic support.

  • Days: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: Library
Students who are struggling in their classes should see Miss Torres for a Before School Intervention Permission Slip. A parent signature is required in order to attend. This is a great opportunity for students to get help, improve grades, and strengthen their learning before the trimester ends.

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

As the weather is changing we still have sweatshirts available for purchase!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.
