Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! There will be no school on Monday and Tuesday in honor of Veterans Day as we take time to recognize and thank all who have served our country.

This Friday, November 14th, we’re excited to host our first Family Movie Night! Bring your family and friends for a fun evening under the stars while supporting our ASB fundraiser. Entrance is free, and concessions will be available for purchase (cash only).

We are also continuing our Food Drive this week. Please drop off any donated items or bags in the front office—your generosity helps support families in need within our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support and Wolverine spirit!

Please ensure your student:

  • Arrives to school and each class on time.
  • Comes prepared and ready to learn each day.
  • Brings their school ID, charged laptop and charger, and all necessary materials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping every Woodcrest Wolverine succeed!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats are not permitted on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Thank you,

Mrs. Taylor

Principal

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

Limited quantities available!

Purchase Spirit Wear in the Office to support our ASB!

PBIS Spirit Points and Student Involvement

Grade levels earn spirit points throughout the school year and the grade with the most points at the end of the year earns an extra end of the year activity.

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: Week of November 10th–14th

Dear Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed a restful weekend! This week we’ll have a shortened schedule — No School on Monday, November 10th, and Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. We thank and honor all who have served. 🇺🇸

📚 Academics:
Even with a short week, it’s important to stay focused and organized. We are now moving through Trimester 2, and progress reports will be coming soon. Encourage your child to:

  • Check in with teachers about missing work.

  • Stay caught up on assignments.

  • Keep using their planners or digital tools to manage due dates.

Consistency, even in short weeks, helps build strong academic habits!

🌟 PBIS:
Continue to show what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe—our Woodcrest Wolverine expectations! Students can still earn PBIS points for positive behavior and use them to purchase fun items in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school. Let’s finish this short week strong with great behavior and effort!

💜 Social-Emotional Support:
A short week is a great time to recharge. Encourage your child to take time for self-care, get enough rest, and connect with friends and family. Remember, our counseling team is here to support all students—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Let’s make the most of this week and continue to build positive momentum as we move forward in Trimester 2. Keep up the great work, Wolverines!

📘 Before School Intervention has started!
Before School Intervention Program for students who need extra academic support.

  • Days: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: Library
Students who are struggling in their classes should see Miss Torres for a Before School Intervention Permission Slip. A parent signature is required in order to attend. This is a great opportunity for students to get help, improve grades, and strengthen their learning before the trimester ends.

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia
