Woodcrest Wolverines

Principal's Message

Dear Woodcrest Families,

Last week, we wrapped up our volleyball season, and we couldn’t be prouder of our student-athletes! Congratulations to both our girls’ and boys’ teams for an amazing season filled with teamwork, effort, and Wolverine spirit. A special congratulations goes out to our boys’ team for placing second—what a fantastic accomplishment!

This Tuesday, we will hold our first School Site Council (SSC) Meeting of the year. This meeting is open to all families, students, and staff, and we encourage everyone to join us to learn more about how our school goals and resources support student success. The meeting will be held via Zoom starting at 3:30 PM. https://chino-k12-ca-us.zoom.us/j/86442952387

And don’t forget to save the date for our Family Movie Night on Friday, November 14th! It’s always a fun evening for our Woodcrest community to come together, relax, and enjoy a great movie.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community. Together, we make Woodcrest a place where every Wolverine can thrive!

Go Wolverines!

Important Reminders:

  • Student ID badges must be worn daily. If a student does not have their ID they can go to the office to have one printed for them for the day. On the 3rd instance they will receive a lunch detention for not being responsible. It is the student's responsibility to wear it daily. ID Badges are used during lunch time to speed up the process for students getting their lunch in the lines. If students do not have their ID's on them they will be asked to go to the back of the line as to not hold up the lunch lines.

  • Hats are not permitted on campus

  • No Gum on campus

  • Phones, ear buds, headphones, and all electronic devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before entering campus

  • There is no student drop-off in front of the school

    • Students may enter from the north side by the park or the south side near the Library (see map below)

  • Students should bring their agendas, charged laptops, and chargers every day

  • Please review the student handbook located in the agenda before the first day of school

  • Every Friday is School Spirit Day! Wear purple, black, grey, or a Woodcrest shirt

  • Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Drop Off and Pick Up Options

Dear Woodcrest Families,

To help keep our students safe, please follow our designated drop-off and pick-up procedures:

South Side (Bon View Entrance)

  • Enter from Bon View (next to Liberty Elementary).

  • Pull forward toward Campus before stopping.

North Side (Driveway Past the Gym)

  • Enter the driveway past the main office and the gym.

  • Continue down the second driveway and follow the loop to exit.

Front of the School (Campus Street)

  • You may use the pull-in section along Campus Street for drop-off or pick-up.

  • This is not part of the driveway.

🚫 Not Allowed

  • No drop-off or pick-up in the driveway directly in front of the office.

  • No parking in school parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up.

  • No stopping or parking in the private community across from the school.

    • This is private property, and the community has informed us that vehicles will be towed or ticketed.

Why This Matters
Students use the crosswalks in our parking lots, and unauthorized driving through these areas creates safety hazards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all Wolverines Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Phones need to be turned off and in backpacks prior to entering the gates, along with earbuds, headphones, any electronics.

Counselor Corner

💬 Counselor’s Corner: Week of October 20th–24th

Dear Families,

We’ve made it to the last week of Trimester 1! 🎉 Trimester 1 officially ends Friday, October 24th, and Trimester 2 begins Monday, October 27th. This is the perfect time to celebrate progress, finish strong, and set goals for the next trimester.

📚 Academics:
Students—make sure all assignments are submitted and grades are finalized this week! Check in with your teachers if you have any questions about grades or missing work. Let’s close out Trimester 1 with effort, focus, and pride.

🎯 PBIS & School Involvement:
Next week (10-27 to 10-31) we’re also celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Students are encouraged to participate in Spirit Days and show their commitment to making positive, healthy choices. Get your outfits ready! Get involved in school activities, earn PBIS points, and use those points to purchase items in the Wellness Room/Zen Den before school. Participation helps build school spirit and strengthens our sense of community!

💙 Social-Emotional Support:
Transitions can bring both excitement and stress. As we prepare for Trimester 2, encourage your child to reflect on what went well this trimester and set one new goal for the next. Remind them to take care of themselves—get enough sleep, stay positive, and reach out if they need help.

🌟 School-Wide Expectations:
Continue to demonstrate what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe—both in the classroom and around campus. Consistency in positive behavior helps create a safe and welcoming school for everyone.

We are so proud of our students for their hard work this trimester! If you or your child need any support, please stop by the Counseling Office or complete the Request for Support Form using the QR code below.

Let’s finish Trimester 1 strong and start Trimester 2 with new energy and goals! 💪

📘 Before School Intervention has started!
Before School Intervention Program for students who need extra academic support.

  • Days: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Location: Library
Students who are struggling in their classes should see Miss Torres for a Before School Intervention Permission Slip. A parent signature is required in order to attend. This is a great opportunity for students to get help, improve grades, and strengthen their learning before the trimester ends.

With care,

Miss Torres & Ms. Morales Garcia
